 Reasons people Procrastinate

1. fear of failure, fear of not being good enough, fear of success

2. lack of consistency

3. negative thinking

Try the following:

  • break down tasks into smaller chunks
  • focus for a period of  time then take a break ( even set a timer)
  • create an internal/external reward system
  • put yourself in a proper environment
  • focus on small steps moving forward
Fear of failure
  • see failure as a part of the learning process
  • push yourself to take small risks
  • visualize the outcome
  • embrace self-compassion, and remind yourself mistakes are not a reflection of your self-worth
  • celebrate small successes
Consistency
  • set small daily habits/tasks that are achievable
  • create a routine
  • track your progress

Negative Thinking
  • negative thinking can: cloud judgement, stunt creativity, diminish self-confidence and increase stress levels
  • replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts that reinforce your strengths
